Business Analyst

We are looking for someone who wants to contribute to the ongoing success of GCI's Business Transformation department to join our growing team as a Business Analyst either home based or at our Salford office. Role summary:

The Business Analyst within GCI's Business Transformation department is fast paced, extremely varied and key to GCI's ongoing success. The Business Analyst is a vital link between our Business Transformation team and the users within the business who utilize the Business Systems and bespoke Software that is developed. The Business Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the business needs are clearly understood, documented and conveyed to the Business Systems and Software Development teams at each stage throughout the project lifestyle.

The Business Analyst will work closely with a wide range of stakeholders across GCI, to ensure successful delivery of projects that meet the required business outcome.

The Business Analyst will also have a role in supporting improvements which can be made across the Business Transformation department. 

Key responsibilities: 

  • Maintain an agreed set of artefacts and lead business requirements capture, process mapping and efficiency work in support of the wider Business Transformation agenda
  • Elicit business requirements using a wide variety of methods such as interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops and workflow analysis. Express the requirements focused upon target user roles, goals and process flow diagrams of as is
  • Document 'as is' and 'to be' processes and describe the changes required to migrate to the 'to be' capability.
  • Provide input into the design and analysis of operating and business models and business change impact assessments and translating business operations and objectives for both the specific area and the wider change agenda 
  • Liaise with business users and stakeholders to fully understand both business and system implications of the operating model and business design, in the context of the objectives for both the specific area and the wider change agenda
  • Conduct feasibility studies from a technology standpoint, documenting findings and completing cost-benefit analysis on implementing changes to business systems, processes or products
  • Contribute to developing business cases to quantify current costs to serve; investment in project and return on investment
